La Maison Bleu – Hotel in Fez, Morocco

La Maison Bleu - Interior courtyard

My suite

La Maison Bleu is a spectacular hotel located in Fez, Morocco.  I stayed at this unique hotel while traveling through Morocco in 2001.  The hotel is a converted 19th century mansion.

I stayed in a suite overlooking the interior courtyard. One evening, I dined on a five course Moroccan meal which included Bestiyeh (Pigeon Pie).  While dining, I listened to musicians performing Anadalucian and Gnawen music. Later that evening while sipping wine, I met an eccentric designer who claimed he designed clothing for Sophia Loren and worked on the set of Lawrence of Arabia!
