Cherry Blossoms – Washington, DC

Cherry Blossoms

This afternoon I took a long walk around the Tidal Basin in DC to view the Cherry Trees in full bloom.  I do this almost every year as it’s quite impressive to see hundreds of trees in bloom.  This year was particular poignant because of the tragedies in Japan (the trees were a gift from the Japanese people almost 100 years ago).

I didn’t take any photos this year as I already have a nice gallery of pics from a visit to the basin with my friend Kelley in April 2009.  Click here to see more photos of the Cherry Trees in full bloom.
