Red Hook Lobster Pound Food Truck – Washington, DC

The Truck

As I was walking down Connecticut Avenue earlier today, I noticed that the Red Hook Lobster Pound Truck was parked in front of “Ireland’s 4 Ps” – an Irish bar in Cleveland Park.  The truck was obviously there to cater to folks drinking Irish ales, etc in the bar in honor of St. Patrick.

Since I was suddenly in the mood for lobster, I returned to the truck later in the day and ordered the “Maine Lobster Roll”.  The grilled roll was small but it was stuffed with succulent, chunks of lobster in a mayo based sauce with a little paprika and lettuce.  Very tasty and the sauce did not overpower the lobster.

I’ll definitely go back and next time I’ll try their whoopee pies…

Check out the website for more information on this food truck as well as their current location.

Cost:  $15 per roll (worth every penny!)
