Churches, Frida Khalo & Fresh Roasted Coffee In Coyoacan, Mexico City

Church - Coyoacan, Mexico

Coyoacan, now part of Mexico City, is a beautiful neighborhood with many colorful homes and Spanish colonial churches.  It was also the home of Frida Khalo, a revered Mexican painter who had a deep respect for the indigenous peoples of her country.  I visited her home, now a museum, while vacationing in Mexico City in November 2007.

Having a coffee at El Jarocho was another highlight of my visit to this residential neighborhood.  This well know coffee chain roasts their coffee right on the premises.  The intoxicating smell of coffee kep me lingering in the cafe for over an hour!

Visit my photo gallery for more photos of Mexico City and Coyoacan (see album dated 11/07).
